Meditation is considered to be the act of relaxing the mind and the body in order to get rid of the stress and recharge the self both physically and emotionally. Those who practice this art use different types of meditation to get in touch with their energy body and to activate overall health. However, it is well known that an effective timer is required to make meditation practitioners realize about the time lapsed. These devices are created for people to clock their exact meditation period. In ancient times, at the end of meditation classes the master would simply hit a bell in order to acknowledge the students that the meditation time is almost over. The sound of a live singing bell is definitely something special and cannot be compared with a recording or a track played by the programmed device called meditation timer. People usually have limited time and prefer to set this gadget to thirty, ten or five minutes to which they have to complete their meditation exercises and stop practicing. Some of them also choose to use meditation timers as their morning alarm clock to help them start their day with a pleasant sound.
Even though we live in the 21st century we still believe that one cannot compare the profound sound of the live meditation bells and the above mentioned meditation timer. However, the main benefit of meditation timers is to allow people to direct their full attention to their practice and not worry about looking at the clock frequently in order to check the elapsed time. Those who are limited can attune themselves into meditating without any distractions and gain the maximum benefit in the minimum possible time frame.
Meditation timers are usually designed and programmed with pleasant sounds of Tibetan or Japanese traditional chimes and bells in order to bring a clear sound and a special atmosphere in the surroundings. In comparison with a live natural bronze meditation bell produced in Himalayas, these timers represent electronic devices connected to a tape or a CD recording that produces quite an ordinary sound. In other words - nothing special. If we were asked to state our opinion, we would definitely choose the live original meditation bells produced in Nepal.
